Why a family service?
Children make our heartbeat here at HFTW! This pandemic has severely limited our ability to reach out to our kids and our hearts are aching. We have been brainstorming how to creatively and safely bring our kids back together to love on them and bless them and see their sweet smiles. This service is the result of a lot of brainstorming. As you all know, there is very little that is predictable in this season. We are on a journey as we discover what kid’s ministry looks like in light of our current global situation, and this is one stop on our journey! We are believing for great things to come of this and are soooo excited to see our HFTW families!
May I drop my kids off and pick them up at the end?
Though at other points in time, dropping your kids off for an event such as this would be totally acceptable; due to the pandemic and government guidelines, parents/guardians must remain present with their children for the entirety of the service. But don’t worry- we are thinking about you “grown-ups” as we create the service! You won’t want to miss out!
How will HFTW follow current government COVID guidelines?
Our service will be held in our main sanctuary to provide ample space for proper physical
Each family will be assigned a table, and every table will be spaced 6 ft apart.
All of the supplies, snacks, crafts, etc will be provided at your table before the service to prevent any potential spread of germs.
Games will all be done “touch-free.”
Masks are encouraged as you enter the building and as you find your seats.
We will have several hand sanitizing stations around the room.
We will have a “cleaning crew” to sanitize handles and bathrooms throughout the service.
Kids will be instructed on proper distancing and protocols in a fun, kid-friendly way.
Will we be served dinner?
There will be no meal provided. However, in true HFTW style, there will be a “snack-tivity!” It wouldn’t be a HFTW lesson without a “chew it!”
What will the service be like?
The service will be run very much like a Sunday morning kids service. We will have worship, games, activities, snacks, a skit, crafts and fun, fun, fun! In addition, Pastor Dale will be joining us for a brief “kid-sized” sermon! We will be continuing our Plenty Too Much series as the theme of the service.
Is this a “one-time event” or an ongoing plan for HFTW?
We are calling this service a “try-it!!” Our heart is to reach and connect with our kids, even during this global pandemic. We are exploring many routes as a means to accomplish this. We will re-evaluate after the service to determine if we will have more family services or if there is perhaps a better way of reaching out to our kids and families during this time.
How old must my child be to attend?
There are no age requirements for this service, however, we are gearing the service toward elementary-aged children. That being said, people of all ages, “parents included” will experience a meaningful, fun, safe and God-filled service!
Will there be a nursery?
There will not be a nursery provided for this service. However, all mom’s will have access to our “nursing mom’s room.”
