Family Challenge Week 5

Creating a Family War Room

This past week we watched the movie “war room.” The idea of a war room is based on Jesus command that when we pray we should go “to an inner room, shut the door and pray to our Father who sees in secret who will then reward you openly.” (Matthew 6::6) We learned that this is how we fight for our family against Satan’s attacks against us. When we pray in secret God fights for us in those public arenas.

The family challenge is to ask the members of your family to each write a prayer about something in the family that they would like to see God’s intervention in. Find a way to tape these to a wall or bulletin board in a secret place. You can also be creative and add things like pictures that might represent people or things you are praying for. Make sure and ask the question, “What is a battle that instead of fighting to win ourselves we would like to trust to let God fight and win for us?” It can include things like problems we struggle with, material things we need, goals and visions we have, things like sickness that have come against us.

Please be sure to send the church praise reports of answers to family prayers.

If you didn’t get to see the movie “War Room” we would highly recommend that your family rent and see it.
