MOVING FROM OLD HURTS TO NEW BEGINNINGS
In this sermon we introduced the last words of Jesus on the cross, “It is finished!” We talked about how this pronouncement, "tetelestai" in the Greek, meant paid in full, a complete resolution of a debt and/or offense that was committed.
In this lesson we are exploring what it means to be done with guilt and shame in light of what Christ did on the cross. Our theme verse is the wonderful promise in Isaiah 61:7 where God promises, “Instead of your shame-you will receive a double portion and instead of disgrace you will rejoice in your inheritance.”
FINISHING ON TOP
The focus of this lesson was to learn how to win the race of life and finish all that God has called us to do with a victorious heart and mind. We saw Jesus as the example of the Champion who has gone before us and invites us to follow his example so that we see victory in this life and receive all of the rewards of eternity that Jesus wants us to have.
